FG Honours Young Gombe Innovator, Usman Dalhatu

The Federal Government of Nigeria through the Honourable Minister of Science and Technology honoured the 20-year old 200-level student of Mechanical Engineering of the Ahmadu Bello University on 16th July, 2020. The boy who hails from Gombe State is a designer and producer of a Ventilator and Street/Walkway-Sweeper who had went viral internationally.

The Hon. Minister Muhammed H. Abdullahi hosted the young innovator who is making every patriotic Nigerian proud, and directed the National Agency for Science & Engineering Infrastructure to collaborate with him to improve on the invention and make it globally competitive for experts, in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s vision for sustainability.

In order to avoid all windows of oppression and to unflinchingly avoid the young innovator from issues related to intellectual property rights; the Hon. Minister has directed the Director General of Federal Institute of Industrial Research to look at the possibility of commercialising the products of Mr. Usman Dalhatu for en masse use in the country, and where and when necessary, to tout the young person’s products for interested countries.

On the overall, the Hon. Minister has assured his most sincere readiness to support inventories of all these initiatives and inventions from Nigerians in order to viably make possible the development of numerous indigenous techs and innovations.
