Group Knocks UK Ogun ‘APC Chair’, Questions His Migration Status In UK

The Ekiti Ejire Association (EEA) has alleged that Mr Andrew Taiwo who was among those recently identified by the Ekiti State Government as men with questionable antecedents, is an illegal immigrant in the United Kingdom.

Mr Dele Ajakaiye Publicity Secretary of the association made the allegation in a statement on Wednesday in Ekiti.

“Our investigations have revealed that one of the rogue elements identified by Ekiti State Government in their press release earlier in the week, is an illegal immigrant in the UK.

“Our sources have confirmed that Mr Andrew Taiwo who parades himself as the chair of Ogun State APC UK chapter is an illegal immigrant on the run from the immigration authorities in the UK.

“He has been in hiding in the UK since his dubious entry into the country several years ago, using fake documentation.

“Our investigations further revealed that UK Citizens’ Advice Bureau had advised him to surrender himself and come clean,” he said.

He added that sources however, confirmed that Taiwo was waiting to take advantage of the UK government’s planned amnesty programme, if approved by the House of Commons, otherwise raise funds to pursue an immigration case that would likely fail.

According to him, Taiwo has not been able to leave the shores of UK despite important family events in Nigeria.

He said the illegal immigration status of Taiwo may have forced him to take desperate measures by claiming to be a fake chair in order to apply to the UK authorities as a chieftain of the Nigerian governing party.

“we dare the rogue chair to deny his illegal immigration status in UK, we will send him a business class ticket with all expenses paid and accommodation in any state in Nigeria,” he said.

Ajakaiye further alleged that Taiwo in connivance with other elements had set up a zoom event to blackmail Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State.

He stressed that while the governor called their bluff, the same platform was used to scam unsuspecting leaders in Nigeria in order to pay for immigration legal services in the UK.

The association’s scribe said it had vowed to defend Gov. Fayemi against any blackmail for money from Taiwo and his cohorts living in penury in the United Kingdom and other parts of the world.

He added that the APC South West leaders in Nigeria had also disassociated themselves from the dubious activities of Taiwo, Tunde Doherty, Tayo Sodeinde, OFAB Olawuyi Alao, Kolawole Saidu and their cohorts.

According to Ajakaiye, the association in its solidarity letter to Gov. Fayemi, copied to all APC South West Governors, listed the rogue elements.

He said the association had advised the Governor who doubles as the Chairman of Nigeria Governor Forum (NGF) to ensure that the listed names were blacklisted in the South West.

Efforts to reach Mr Taiwo via email as at press time, proved abortive.
