Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Thursday presided over security meeting in the Banquet Hall, Government House, Yola while adhering to social distancing protocols to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Speaking in an interview with newsmen shortly after the meeting, the Commissioner of Police in Adamawa, Mr Olugbenga Adeyanju said the meeting deliberated on security threats in some communities of Numan and Lamurde local governments.
Mr Adeyanju added that during the meeting a committee of eight persons has been constituted to find out modalities and recommendations on the incessant farmer-herder clashes in the areas so that government will act upon.
While speaking on recent clash that erupted in Boshikiri community of Guyuk local government, the Police Commissioner said normalcy has been restored in the area and is now under the control of men of the Nigeria Police.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Governor Chief Crowther Seth, Secretary to the state Government Malam Bashir Ahmad and Chief of Staff Government House, Yola Professor Maxwell Gidado.
Others included all the first class Emirs and Chiefs in the state led by the Lamido Adamawa, Doctor Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustafa as well as service commanders in Adamawa among other key stakeholders on security.
